COULD THERE BE A BIGGER SIGN THAN THIS?AND NO, THIS ISN’T ABOUT CORONAVIRUS PHASE 4 OR 5!

This call is one we cannot ignore!

On Dec 25, 2004, around 5:30 p.m., residents of Nagapattinam, a coastal district in Tamil Nadu, India, reported observing strangely erratic behavior among their livestock that appeared scared and were straining to be let free from their pens. The birds had gone ominously silent, and locals noticed strays belonging to their areas desert their usual territories to head away from the East and into unfamiliar territory; a not in the least common thing for street dogs to do.

On the same evening, people living in Kondapalli, Andhra Pradesh, another coastal district in India, reported the same.

The peculiar change in animal behavior was something that caught the public’s attention, for they had never seen animals act this way before, especially street dogs running away into unknown lands, for dogs are territory-bound creatures that, unless scared for their lives, never quit their territories.

On Dec 26, 2004, at 7:58 a.m., an earthquake struck the east coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, which triggered a devastating tsunami an hour-and-a-half later in India in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and parts of Kerala, claiming the lives of 5000 people in the vicinity in a single swipe.

Those belonging to the ‘strike area’ did not know what hit them. And they did not move away from the ‘red zone’ in advance like the animals did, and that over twelve hours prior to the catastrophe. Why? Because none knew.

How did the animals know?

Animals; strays, and those in the wild, in particular; owing to their having to put up a fight to survive every second of their lives because a second’s lapse in focus or alertness could cost them their life, and for that’s how their predators get to eat, have sensory perceptions fine-tuned to a far greater level than humans.

An example. Cats see 6 times better than us, hear 5 times better, and smell 14 times better.

Imagine for a second if we’d had senses as developed! We’d sense accidents in advance, and avert them, we’d detect crimes beforehand, people telling lies would seriously have to whisper them, and I mean seriously, and those with smelly co-workers would get ready with their deodorant sprays as they sat at their work desks on the higher floors even while the latter entered their office premises on the ground floor! Man, one sees perks and perks galore with heightened sensory outputs!

And, animals, because of their ability to sense subtle changes in the earth’s electromagnetic field, turn aware of approaching catastrophes, and much before our machines can catch them.

Well, there is something sinister going on. And the past has given us enough cues to not respond to the signs. Animals are acting up again. And no, they aren’t deserting their local domains this time, but are following social-distancing among themselves, and this is not funny, or normal!

Animals, those that stay huddled together, do not alter their pattern under routine conditions or circumstances. Animals never break the laws they follow if only by instincts. None teaches an animal’s young one where or how to find its milk! And instincts, or inborn “innate” characteristics, unique from each form of creation to the other, aren’t man-made. They are Nature-made.

A look at the below picture taken on 29-04-2020 in Arunachal Pradesh, India, will send shivers down the spines of those who understand animal behavior.

Monkeys maintaining social distancing near Bhalukpong in Arunachal Pradesh, India, on 29-04-2020

These are wild monkeys. None has or could have trained them. Watch how they maintain ‘social distancing’ from the other as the man tries handing one a banana.

Could this, under normal circumstances, happen? Err, with monkeys?

Monkeys, as much as I’ve seen them, don’t think twice before snatching food bags off people’s hands! Or coming up with ‘scare-tactics’ in baring their teeth and snarling at us when they want us to back off! Go to any temple in India with monkeys around, or any hill resort for the matter, and you’ll know what I’m saying. Do we have any among my readers having visited Tirupati or Matheran ever? Yes? I’m certain the ones who have fully understand ‘fickle’ monkey behavior!

Coronavirus is now making its presence known to the animal kingdom, and the animals, like always, are ahead of humans.

What does the above act of the monkeys imply? Two things.

#1 It could imply an oncoming spread of the pandemic, and a big-time spread.

#2 Optimists, like yours truly, might want to believe that this could be an implication of newer, better times to come, for the animals following social distancing, sensing the disease’s novelty and soon-to-happen spread, are taking remedial, preemptive measures in curtailing the same.

Does this mean anything for us? I surmise it does, and a lot!

  • The animal kingdom is telling us to keep up social distancing for times to come.
  • The animal kingdom, in staying away and maintaining social distancing, is especially telling us to keep social distancing from them!
  • The animal kingdom is warning us of a truth that might sound very unpleasant to many who’ll read this. However, I must give you my read if I must stick by what I believe: To give to all the best I have if only to receive in the same coin! I am selfish like everyone!

“Animal slaughter must stop. They’re warning us. Their social distancing signals for us to stay away from them, if only to not contract and spread future pandemics like Coronavirus, by eating them, which will most definitely make our race fight to maintain their place on the face of Mother Earth.”

Ben Orlin: Change is the only constant.

It is time for us to change. To let go of our old faiths or practices; if only to ensure we lived to tell the tales of our successfully having overcome lethal pandemics like Coronavirus, and goodness alone knows how many more, to our grandchildren, for the virus is reaching people to their graves with no age considerations; is a notion we must all toss up within ourselves and decide on NOW!

And what must we do?

We must follow the guidelines our well-wishers from the animal kingdom kindly and pleadingly suggest, be it via their actions, for actions indeed speak louder than words.

  • We must maintain social distancing until Coronavirus does not leave the face of the Earth.
  • We must continue the newly applied measures to herald a new age of living; we bear no choice.
  • We must maintain social distancing from the animal kingdom “in express”: Sorry butchers, slaughterhouses, or those that can’t do without meat. Practice staying away from animals if you fancy sticking around to meet yourself in your 70’s or 80’s, if you’re young now.

And if you’re old today and thinking what the heck, assuming I were you, I wouldn’t much bother breaking my head with the above, for as a doctor, I can attest to the medical fact that death owing to Coronavirus is a far easier, faster, and a cheaper proposition to deal with than cancer, the leader among killer diseases today; or at least was until Coronavirus snatched the dreaded title; or a hoard of life-threatening illnesses that noteworthy numbers among the former land up fighting and losing while emptying their life’s savings. Karmas?

The smart ones, I reckon, or those wanting to finish their full terms here, or all their years allotted by the maker, with no “before-time recalls”, would let the animals, the birds, and yes, the insects alone.

I direct the above at our Eastern neighbors, in specific, for the short, cute & innocent-looking from the outside but the opposite from within; those with slits for eyes angled toward the sky and noses the Almighty forgot to work on, thus stayed compressed & flat inside their deceptive faces, and with a leader whose name is spelled ‘SHEE’, a word that, not in India alone but the globe over, means anything deplorable or cheap; need to change — NOW!

‘To live and let live’ is an age-old axiom, and the animals are signaling it to us now. Please act.
